When the unwed, virgin Mary learns that she will become pregnant and bear a child for the salvation of the world, her response it, "My soul magnifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me - holy is God's name." (Luke 1:46-48)

Never being a huge fan of insects, or other creepy crawly things, I was a bit unnerved to open my eyes and find one of the biggest and ugliest bugs of my life sunning itself on my napping rock in the boundary waters. I tried to play it 'cool' and not jump up or scream, “It is only a bug,” I told myself, “and I am not a skittish-girl,” but it was so very big and the 'heebie-jeebies' got the better of me as I clumsily and quickly scooted away.
