Worship and music team members serve to provide meaningful and inspirational worship experiences in the Christian tradition and faith.
Worship Ministry includes:
Assisting Minister
Assist the pastor in leading the ministry during worship services. Training is provided.
Lay Reader
Reads the appointed Bible readings during worship.
Communion Assistant
Members of the church council rotate assisting with communion distribution during worship.
Acolyte
Confirmation students rotate lighting appropriate candles and assisting pastor during worship services as needed.
Communion Care
Set-up and clean-up communion bread, wine and grape juice for worship services.
Sound Technician
Set-up, run and break down sound equipment needs for worship services. Training is provided.
Power Point
Presentation: Make PowerPoint presentation slides for worship services
Technician: Operate the PowerPoint presentation during worship services
Training is provided
Ushers
Hand out bulletins and other worship aids, help direct worshipers during services, pass offering plates and present offering, ring church bell before worship and count those in attendance.
Greeters
Welcome and greet worshipers as they arrive.
Children's Sermon
Work with pastor to prepare and/or present a short children's message during worship services.
Music Ministry Includes:
Organist/Pianist/Keyboardist
Lead the liturgy and songs during worship services.
Celebration Band
Singers and musicians who lead the music portion of worship services. Practices are held most Sundays at 8:00am.
Special Music Opportunities
Individuals or groups, vocal or instrumental who offer their special music gifts along with our usual worship music.
Sunday School Music Leader
Plan, teach and lead Sunday School children in song during Sunday School opening time, during worship one Sunday a month and the children's Christmas worship program.
Altar Care (Maintenance and care of altar area, sacristy and items used during worship):
Sanctuary Presentation
Seasonal decorating, plants and flowers, deep cleaning of altar furnishings, polishing brass and/or silver items.
Linens and Altar Cloths
Cleaning and upkeep of communion cloths, funeral pall, and changing altar linens with church calendar.
Banners and Flags
Making and maintaining banners for worship. Rotating appropriate banners with church calendar. Maintaining flags used for special days on church grounds.
Candles
Maintaining and filling oil candles
Sacristy
Clean and organize sacristy room. Maintain communion and worship supplies.
Children's Worship Bags & Buddies
Worship buddies (stuffed animals) and cloth bags filled with items to keep children's hands busy during worship services.
