Maundy Thursday

“Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.” John 13:1

On this Maundy Thursday my thoughts turn to Jesus and the love he had for all humanity. As he prepared to have his last meal with the twelve, knowing what was ahead, he made sure that no matter what, they knew they were loved.

And so it was that he washed their feet, shared a meal which he left with them as his last testament (or covenant), led them to the Garden to pray, and followed through with the final work that was ahead for him to complete.

If today would be your last day on earth, what would you leave behind for your friends and family? I suggest that we choose to leave a legacy of love; that everyone with whom we come into contact knows the love of Christ and that we can share that love until the very end.

God Bless you on your journey through Holy Week. Know that you are loved, and will be forever.
