Dear Friends and Family of Gethsemane,

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

At a special meeting of the Gethsemane Church council, it was decided to begin outdoor worship services in the month of June, starting with June 14. Details can be found in the letter from the council included in this mailing. I encourage everyone over age 65 or with health conditions to very carefully consider whether returning to group worship at this time is wise for your circumstance. I recognize that not everyone will be comfortable returning to worship, and I support the decisions you make regarding worship.

Whether you choose to avoid group worship or just must miss a Sunday now and then, this booklet is designed to lead you in your Sunday devotions or worship at home. Read the confession, accept the forgiveness offered, read the scriptures, and reflect on them. Some questions are provided to give you a starting point for reflection or discussion. Sing the song. Pray the prayers. Accept the blessing.

The booklet will also compliment the on-line video worship that is posted weekly on our website, www.gethlutheran.org. Additionally, this booklet will be posted as a PDF.

We will continue to post news and updates on the website and Facebook as circumstances change, so check these places frequently or ask a friend to keep you informed. Important notices will be sent via US Postal service.

I pray God’s continued presence and peace be with you in the days and weeks ahead until we meet again. If you have any needs or concerns, please let me know. I am here to serve.
