What is WELCA? The short answer is friends, mothers, daughters, visionaries, queens, rulers, women. Or you can go with, It’s an easier way to say Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Quite a mouthful, we know. WELCA is the women’s ministry organization of the ELCA. It’s separately incorporated and is not an auxiliary of the church, and it’s financially independent and responsible for its own financial affairs. Financial support comes from individual and group offerings and gifts.
Women’s Ministry is for women of all ages who are seeking opportunities to gather, grow in friendship and faith, and to serve our church and community. We have many opportunities to meet and serve through Christ.
Women's Lenten Meal
Held annually, our men from the congregation come in, cook, and serve the meal. There is usually a small program and entertainment.
Ladies Night Out
Held monthly at different restaurants, come and enjoy some food, fun and fellowship! Check on the calendar or call the office to learn what day, and where, we’ll meet. We would love to have you; you do not need to be a member of our church to participate - if you are in need of fellowship, give us a call.
Annual Garage and Bake Sale
This is our major fundraising event, held in early June. Every room is filled with trinkets and treasures. One-hundred percent of the proceeds are donated to worthy causes.
